Most of the time Microsoft promo videos are awful, cringe worthy pieces of junk that just make the big MS look like one big “Dad Joke”. But this video is seriously good!

I came across a YouTube video showing the Apple Knowledge Navigator, a 1987 concept video produced by Apple. I find most concept videos to be so fanciful that they really never come to fruition (Beyond 2000 anyone?). But there was something quite simple and honest about this video – and not to mention that many of the pieces, while not all together as one, exists in some form today.

I couldn’t help thinking of Google Reader and Skype whilst watching this. The AI (Artificial Intelligence) is still a while away, but the insight Apple has shown here is astounding.

For any one who doesn’t know tool, or the shear compleaxity of there music this might be a little lost on you, but this kid is ten and pulling out Vicarious with near Danny Carey percision! Did I mention that he’s only 10!?

For the most part, drummers these days are lazy and talentless – 4/4 drum beats with not too much in the way of ‘music’ to them. The same old and tried beats. Drummers like Danny Carey and TeddyZ (Youtube kid, not sure of his name) really make the drums an instrument of expression! I love it

KEVIN Rudd has again made headlines in the United States – this time for his embarrassing earwax eating episode.

Coming after publicity in the US over his visit to New York strip club Scores, the website of esteemed broadsheet The Washington Post this week featured an article about Rudd’s distasteful indiscretion six years ago.

The earwax incident, caught on film in Parliament and recently put on YouTube, was described in the story as a “stomach-turning display”.

“Now, I know what you’re thinking – Australia is a different country, and just because ear wax isn’t on the menu at Outback Steakhouse, doesn’t mean it’s not eaten Down Under,” columnist Emil Steiner tells his readers.”After all, we shouldn’t impose our American ‘tastes’ on a different culture.

“Then again, I think earwax-eating is one of those activities that is gross across cultures.”

The article went on to question whether an earwax eater would be a worthy Prime Minister.

“The question is whether a man with so little savvy for the cameras is fit to hold his nation’s highest office.”
