Especially when IE6 and 7 combined still command something in the order of 75% of the market (if not more) so we deal with the problems as best we can.

One of these such areas is the PNG transparency support in Internet Explore 6 – more specifically, the lack there of.

Over at Net Tuts they have a great Videocast featuring 5 techniques on how to fix the transparency issues in Internet Explorer 6. The cover the following techniques:

Unit PNG Fix

DD_BelatedPNG Fix

IE7.js Fix

Twin Helix Fix (from Angus Turnbull)

Don’t Fix It! Many times in order to see changes I had made to code I would have to close firefox and re-open it – Very painful when I have many tabs open. My other option was to use Safari to test my sites in and I have no interest in doing that so I thought it’s time to have a look at the Firefox config settings.

To get to the config settings type about:config in the Firefox address bar. Set both browser.cache.memory.capacity and browser.cache.disk.capacity to 0. Alternatively, you can also set browser.cache.disk.enable and browser.cache.memory.enable to False.

Restart Firefox and your pages will load fresh each time. If you have any other tips like this I would love to hear them!
