As a web designer there is nothing more annoying that designing the perfect site, writing the perfect, standards compliant code only to find IE looks like garbage in Internet Explorer 6 and , to a lesser but still painful extent, 7.
But, as a good web developer ignoring IE entirely is not an option. Especially when IE6 and 7 combined still command something in the order of 75% of the market (if not more) so we deal with the problems as best we can.
One of these such areas is the PNG transparency support in Internet Explore 6 – more specifically, the lack there of.

Interesting thought. I actually hadn’t thought of people with 800×600 screen width.. i guess it’s the same as people who use IE6 – UPGRADE :)
yes the png issue is such an annoyance, especially when a png image it the best for a site’s design. People should all use firefox already.

I wonder how many IE6 users have simply grown accustomed to PNG issues? Similarly, I wonder how many 800×600 monitor setting users have grown accustom to horizontal scrolling?
